My Story
Hi, I’m Nick, and welcome to my little corner of the internet. A space focused on midlife wellbeing, mental health, and sustainable lifestyle change for people over 40.
Here, I create content to help people improve both their mental and physical wellbeing in midlife without extreme routines, unrealistic expectations, or constant pressure to optimise their lives.
Because mental and physical wellbeing should feel achievable and sustainable, rather than overwhelming.
Midlife Wellbeing That Fits Real Life
As we move through our 40s and beyond, many of us start thinking more seriously about our health, energy levels, and overall quality of life. But most advice online still focuses on quick fixes, intense fitness plans, or unrealistic routines. Nick Maison Wellness takes a different approach.
Here you’ll find ideas and guidance focused on:
- Mental health and emotional wellbeing in midlife
- Sustainable fitness after 40 (especially walking and simple movement)
- Building healthy habits that last
- Reducing stress and avoiding burnout
- Creating a lifestyle that supports long-term wellbeing
The aim here is simple: small changes that make a real and lasting difference over time.
Why I Started Writing About Wellbeing
Like many people, I’ve experienced periods of stress, anxiety, and low mental health, which helped me understand how important it is to take care of both mind and body. Those experiences led me to explore ways of improving wellbeing that were realistic, sustainable, and compassionate rather than strict or extreme routines.
Nick Maison Wellness grew out of that journey.
My Approach
Everything I share is built around a simple philosophy:
- Small steps.
- Fewer rules.
- More patience.
Wellbeing isn’t about transforming your life overnight. It’s about creating habits and routines that support your health for the long term.
That might mean:
- walking more instead of extreme workouts
- improving mindset and self-compassion
- building habits gradually
- starting again when life gets busy
Because progress in midlife wellbeing often comes from consistency.
A Bit About Me
Outside of writing about wellbeing, I’m also a:
- coffee lover
- chocolate enthusiast
- photographer
- motorcyclist
- lifelong music fan
Music has always played a big role in my life, even leading to a short stint presenting a request show on local hospital radio. So, every now and then you might spot the occasional music reference in my content.
